Uniform
Wearing a school uniform ensures the children look smart, establishes good discipline, and ensures the children are ready to learn. The school uniform must be worn at all times at Baines’ Endowed. It is the responsibility of parents and carers to ensure that their child has full school uniform, P.E. kit and that they are following the school’s Uniform Policy at all times.
The school uniform comprises of the following items:
Baines’ Uniform (worn in Autumn, Winter and Spring; can be worn all year round)
- Navy sweatshirt or cardigan, with or without school logo
- Navy skirt, pinafore, trousers or shorts (no jogging bottoms/shorts)
- Yellow polo shirt, with or without school logo
- Dark socks - navy, black or dark grey (with trousers)
- Navy tights, white or navy socks (with skirts/dresses)
- ALWAYS badge
Smart black school shoes must be worn. Children who wear trainer type footwear will be asked to change into their PE pumps, or will be provided with a pair to wear for the day.
PE Kit (should be brought in a P.E. bag and left in school during term time)
- Black pumps (for indoor PE) or trainers (for outdoor PE)
- Yellow t-shirt
- Navy PE shorts (not lycra)
- Navy tracksuits or leggings (in winter months)
Baines’ Summer Uniform
- Yellow polo shirt, with or without school logo
- Smart, tailored navy shorts (not jog pant material), with or without school logo
- Yellow and white checked summer dress with white socks
- ALWAYS badge
Playsuits are not allowed to be worn for school, because they require children to fully undress to go to the toilet. They are not part of our school uniform.
Jewellery
Children are not allowed to wear any jewellery to school, including earrings.
Haircuts
Haircuts must be smart; children should not have extreme haircuts, dye their hair, or have unnatural colours. Hair should not be cut shorter than a ‘number 2’ and lines and patterns must not be cut into the sides. Children with long hair must wear it tied up off their shoulders. A simple bobble or hair band may be worn to keep hair smart and tidy. Children wearing oversized bows or hair accessories that are unsuitable for school or not in the school colours will be asked by a member of staff to remove them.
