Welcome to Baines’ Endowed Nursery
Baines’ Nursery is thrilled to welcome you to nursery where we nurture children from 2 years to 4 years and we pride ourselves on caring for your child as though they were our own. We have warm, supportive staff who work with you and your child at every stage of their development with a special emphasis on individual requirements, preferences and needs. In addition, we offer great facilities, high quality resources and a carefully planned learning environment. We ensure every day is an adventure and full of opportunities for your child to grow, develop and reach their full potential. We recognise that starting nursery is a child’s first experience of education and those children’s earliest experiences of learning lay the foundations necessary for them to become confident in themselves as learners for their whole lives.
How we learn in Nursery
The Nursery curriculum is based around the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage Framework’ (EYFS) which covers 7 different areas of learning. These are:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Learning is play – based which means that on the whole, children choose the activity that they would like to do and their learning is supported and extended by adults in the classroom, as part of their play. Learning also takes place in small groups, or whole class sessions.
