On Friday 17th January I took two Boccia teams to compete in the Lancashire finals: Baines Bears and Baines Lions. The winners of each league went through to the semifinals, which the Baines Bears won. Unfortunately, they lost in the finals against three 16 year old boys – One had a beard!!! They only lost by two points. Baines Bears, as runners up, are through the regional finals held in Liverpool on Thursday 6th February. The Baines Bear team members are – Denzil Dewhurst, Bradley Mellor, Aamaya Nowell, Jamie-Lee Gill and Bethany McCormack.
Well done to the Baines Lions for getting through to the Lancashire finals, they were in a league with high schools.
